LORRAINE HARITON APPOINTED PRESIDENT
AND CEO OF HEADSPACE
Interactive Audio Leader Strengthens
Management Team
San Mateo, CA. (February 2, 1999) -- Headspace,
Inc., creator of Beatnik technology for interactive music
and sound on the Internet, today announced the appointment
of Lorraine Hariton as president and chief executive officer.
Hariton succeeds Thomas Dolby Robertson, founder, who will
continue to guide company's vision and technical innovation.

to provide a revolutionary way to bring interactive audio
to the masses," said Thomas Dolby Robertson, who will
retain the title Chief Beatnik. "Lorraine's strong
combination of technical expertise and marketing know-how,
will provide strong direction and help Headspace achieve
its strategic business objectives. Plus, it'll leave me
more time to make some great music with these amazing tools
we've built!"
Hariton joins Headspace with more than 20 years of experience
in the technology industry. Most recently, she was a corporate
officer with Network Computing Devices (NCD), a leader in
thin client hardware and software, and served as senior
vice president of development and marketing. Among her accomplishments,
Hariton revamped NCD's product line to move from the Unix-based
X terminal to the Windows-based terminal. She delivered
the first CE based Windows-based Terminal as well as a family
of related software products for enhanced connectivity.
At NCD, she was responsible for all marketing, product
management and engineering functions. In addition, she was
instrumental in closing major deals with IBM, Sun Microsystems,
Novell and AT&T.
Prior to joining NCD in 1993, Hariton held several management
positions at Verifone Corporation and IBM/ROLM. At IBM/ROLM,
she held a variety of sales and marketing positions eventually
served as branch manager and product line manager. Hariton
received an MBA degree from Harvard Business School and
a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematical sciences from
Stanford University.
