LG in Concert with Beatnik Mobile Audio Solutions

Beatnik Audio Engine Shipping in Latest Phone

San Mateo, California— October 10th, 2007 — Beatnik, Inc., the leading provider of audio software solutions for mobile devices, today announced that the Beatnik Audio Engine (BAE) has been licensed by LG Electronics Inc. and is already shipping in their KS-10 mobile phone model. The Beatnik Audio Engine enables LG to provide high fidelity music synthesis and audio playback in their wireless products whilst supporting the key open standard file formats required in today’s multimedia-rich devices.

As a flexible and highly configurable pure software solution, the BAE enables the real time generation of high quality audio by any application on the phone, including polyphonic and digital ringtones, music players, multimedia messaging and interactive games. The BAE is fully integrated in the Symbian OS multimedia framework delivering a fully functional audio plug-in on the device and allowing applications to access the rich audio generation functionality through standard platform APIs.

Providing a complete audio subsystem, mobileBAE incorporates a synthesiser, mixer, sample rate converter, digital audio player and support for MIDI, SP-MIDI, Mobile XMF, Mobile DLS, RMF, WAV, MP3, aacPlus and Windows Media Audio file formats. Beatnik has licensed its BAE technology to industry-leading wireless handset manufacturers and platform providers including Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, SAGEM and Freescale Semiconductor and has it’s software deployed in over half a billion devices globally.
