Tokyo, Japan April 6, 2004 -- Beatnik, Inc., the leading provider of structured audio software solutions for mobile devices, today announced that Clavis Company (a division of Macnica, Inc.) has been appointed the Beatnik representative to the Japanese mobile communications industry.
Clavis Company will now be able to provide Japanese manufacturers of mobile phones, PDAs, and other devices with Beatnik's mobileBAE software to power polyphonic ringtones and other advanced audio applications.
The Beatnik Audio Engine (BAE) enables network operators to deliver increasingly advanced mobile audio services based on the newly adopted Mobile XMF standard. These services include high-fidelity sampled ringtones, authentic game sound effects, sound-enhanced multimedia messages and user interface audio alerts. Industry-leading handset manufacturers such as Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Siemens, Sendo and Sony Ericsson have all adopted the Beatnik software for integration with their products worldwide.
"For the Japanese mobile phone industry global standards such as Mobile XMF are becoming the key to success in both domestic and export markets," said Reggie R. Tezuka, Company President, Clavis Company. "Clavis Company can now provide and support our Japanese customers with a world class and flexible software audio solution which enables advanced functionality at a drastically lower cost."
"Polyphonic ringtones and advanced audio are a must for today's mobile phones, and the industry is rapidly converging on global standards to provide such functionality,"said Jeremy Copp, Chief Sales Officer at Beatnik, Inc. "Clavis Company's expert technical knowledge and in depth experience of the Japanese telecommunications industry, combined with Beatnik's industry leading software together can rapidly deliver flexible, advanced audio solutions to Japanese handset manufacturers."
Beatnik's advanced software engine supports the real time synthesis of high quality polyphonic audio. As a complete audio subsystem, the mobileBAE software incorporates a synthesiser, mixer, sample rate converter, linear audio player and support for MIDI, SP-MIDI, Mobile XMF & Mobile DLS, RMF, and WAV file formats. This gives users full control over all sounds produced by their mobile phone, allowing full audio personalisation.
