BEATNIK ANNOUNCES NEW CROSS PLATFORM AUTHORING TOOL FOR CREATING INTERACTIVE MUSIC CONTENT

SAN MATEO, CA - September 25, 2000 - Beatnik, Inc., a leader in interactive audio technologies and content for the Web and digital devices, today announced the Beatnik Editor™ 2.0, the essential cross platform tool for creating compelling interactive music content in Beatnik's Rich Music Format™ (RMF®).

"Editor 2.0 was developed to give musicians and audio professionals a powerful tool to create extremely small files that load almost instantly onto the Web or a digital device," said Steve Snell, Director of Product Marketing for Beatnik. "Editor now has a retro analog look and new features that speed the RMF creation process. Users can now drag and drop MP3 and other samples directly from the desktop, work in multiple sessions simultaneously, and use the unlimited undo and redo feature."

Beatnik Editor 2.0 can be used as a standalone application for converting and combining MIDI and digital audio files into RMF format or as a virtual General MIDI sound module from within today's most popular MIDI sequencing software packages like Digital Performer, Cubase VST, Logic, StudioVision Pro or Cakewalk Pro 8 and Metro.

Beatnik Editor 2.0 is part of the Beatnik Music System, a complete musical platform for building interactive music applications for the web, set top boxes, and digital devices such as mobile phones, PDAs and digital cameras. Beatnik Editor 2.0 is now available for both Mac and Windows users.
