Beatnik is looking for a Sr. Content Server Software Engineer, responsible for developing Beatnik's back end server applications.

The candidate should have 7+ years overall industry experience, with at least 5+ years working in content server or mobile gateway related development. The candidate should have strong knowledge of all aspects of a web server development including architect, design and implementation. The candidate should have a deep understanding of web standards, object-oriented design and best practices. Our ideal candidate is motivated to work with a collaborative team of highly specialized and senior-level software engineers who develop cutting-edge technologies for mobile phones.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design and development of Beatnik server applications.
• Participate in and contribute to other Beatnik mobile application projects, including prototyping, requirements gathering, design, development and release.
• Work broadly within the organization to brainstorm new ideas for future requirements and improvements .

Requirements

• BS/MS, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Strong ANSI-C and C++ knowledge
• Ability to architect and implement a web server product
• Strong CGI and Perl script programming skill
• Strong Oracle or MySQL database interface knowledge
• Good understanding of transactional centric client-server communication process
• Good knowledge of common markup languages, such as HTML, XML etc.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
• Motivated self-starter who can work well in a fast-paced team environment
• Understanding of OOP concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and/or knowledge of developing web server or Java server
• Experience and/or knowledge of content and subscriber management
• Understanding of mobile data access concepts and implementations

Looking for a Software Engineer to join an engineering team responsible for porting, optimizing and integrating audio technology for the mobile phone industry.

The candidate must have 5+ years overall industry experience, with at least 3+ years in mobile, embedded or other related engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Work on all stages of development cycle, including requirements generation, design, development, benchmarking, optimizing, debugging, and product shipment.
• Work with members of the core and platform engineering teams to develop a coordinated feature set.
• Interact directly with mobile handset and other device manufacturers to resolve problems and find creative solutions for their needs.

Requirements

• BS/MS, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong ANSI-C and C++ expertise writing robust commercial applications with a strong emphasis on performance, code size, and runtime memory usage.
• Experience programming for embedded and/or mobile platforms, including developing, building, downloading and debugging.
• Ability to work closely with customers, understand their requirements, and deliver accordingly.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with teammates.
• Motivated self-starter who likes working on very productive, fast-paced teams.
• Strong written English and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiar with platforms & operating systems common to mobile phones: Symbian, Brew, Windows Mobile, Palm, Nucleus, J2ME
• Experience building and deploying C/C++ or J2ME applications on mobile handsets or wireless devices.
• Experience writing assembly language programs for the ARM instruction set. Other instruction set assembly knowledge also a plus.
• Experience optimizing algorithms for ARM-based processors. Experience optimizing for other processors common in the mobile phone industry also a plus.
• DSP and audio experience a strong plus
• Experience with MIDI, MP3 and other audio formats.
• Experience with writing software and drivers for developement boards.
